Nine companies have applied for licenses under the new Gaming Act 2014, including companies owned by Craig Flowers and Sebas Bastian, two of the leading proponents of the formerly outlawed web shop gaming industry, and while objections and comments on the applications are allowed, the Gaming Board insists it is not accepting objections on moral grounds.

For sake of country: Vote no on web shops

The biggest loser in a yes vote to "support the regulation and taxation of web shop gaming" will be the Bahamian people. It should be noted that while that is the language of the proposed referendum question, the issue is really whether to legalize what is currently a criminal enterprise.
